primary colours is back with the last release in the second colour series. this release is start studded by by the two fantstic artosts that have joined our family. it was their approach and faithful reproductions that we named this release. archetypes are a collectively-inherited unconscious idea, pattern of behaviour or thought that is universally present in individuals or a recurring symbol or motif in art or mythology. it is this exact thing we see here in this release, a train of consciousness with three distinct personalities.

redefine is the second single taken from trentemøllers new album fixion and features marie fisker on vocals. marie fisker, a mainstay of the trentemøller live constellation, has also been a long-time studio collaborator of anders and her four songs on fixion mark their third musical partnership. marie has such a powerful and unique voice that fits my music quite naturally. i had her in mind as soon as i started writing. she ended up singing on four of the songs so shes definitely the voice that kind of leads you through the album. having toured so extensively with marie, we ve come to understand each others capacities and that really pushes us to challenge and inspire each other. i reckon thats the driving force behind our songwriting.

mathias kaden’s project mathimidori is back to mule musiq since our first release in 2013. this time he teamed up with japanese female singer shoco (she is actually girlfriend of our friend “dj pige”). it’s a great mixture of atmospheric tech house and cool japanese poetry reading.

benedikt frey s arresting out of here was the second entry of our blanc series. originally a vinyl-only limited release, now the track gets a fresh new treatment in the hands of two mainstays of european techno: roman flugel and simon haydo. flugel s cosmic disco drama rework lives up to its name, maintaining the noir disco spirit of the original track but infusing it with tension-building sequences and strings that give it an extra mischievous twist. our favorite frankfurter also straightens the rhythmic skeleton and adds shuffling shakers to make it a relentless dancefloor weapon. haydo s remix delves into a more dismal terrain, transforming the vocals into haunted echoes, adding esoteric synths and topping it all with razor-sharp percussion in what sounds like a storm of ice asteroids falling into a lake of steel. the 12inch comes in a beautiful sleeve featuring an exclusive illustration by barcelona-based artist pau lopez and design by arnau pi.

as until my heart stops turns 10, we head back across the atlantic , this time to boston and a stunning ep from the still hugely under rated deviere. deviere is a music producer and radio disc jockey (progressive black, 90.3 fm wzbc newton) based in boston, massachusetts. he first came to our attention with the transcendental numbers ep on jamal moss mathematics label in 2012 and we ve waited on each release ever since, including last year s huge future shock disco ep (a collaboration with jamal himself). here deviere presents 3 beautiful examples of his deep, soulful craft and a fitting way for umhs to hit double figures.

for the crf012 we are proud to invite the dutch artist, dimi angelis, one of our favorite techno producer. with this release, the man offers us three solid and tasty tracks without compromise. repetitive, minimalist, all tunes are mesmerizing, the music speaks for itself, no need to talk, the best way is to listen.

downfall theory embarks on a new chapter as it hosts a full release from a producer other than its owner, sanys. myztical isn’t exactly a newcomer though, and the ukrainian producer has already two releases to his credit on nicz records. given the title of his debut on downfall theory, it is no surprise to learn that myztical is using it as a means to question reality. inspired by the science fiction writer philip k dick and decades of electronic music, he certainly succeeds on venturing into uncharted territories on the title track. muffled, repetitive vocal samples, an atonal rhythm and relentless, slightly distorted kicks show that quite often, simplicity is the most potent ingredient. on “faith of our fathers”, myztical disappears farther down the wormhole. splintered rhythms, deranged howls and a deranged filter push his vision for broken beat techno into the abyss. “substance d” sees the ukrainian hotshot return to a more linear approach, pounding kicks underpin ghostly shrieks before a breakdown sees the track descend into grimy, woody mcbride-style acid. the accompanying vocal sample, the embodiment of a bad trip, only serves to accentuate the track’s darkly hallucinogenic qualities. finally, there’s “shifted realities” - it revisits the jagged filters of “faith of our fathers”, but does so against the backdrop of a pounding industrial kick and a grungy, low-slung rhythm.
